Living New York – 29/04/18

We were all up fairly early this morning with a nice layabout before our meet up with Shelley and Marie and we are feeling 90% healthy and refreshed.

It was soon time to go down to the lobby and meet the girls and it was wonderful to chat and catch up with these lovely two. Our end to buffet celebration was a bit premature as the only option for breakfast at the hotel was a buffet and Shelly and Marie had a hotel credit they kindly offered to include us in…buffet breakfast it was.

After I chewed the girl’s ears off for a couple hours, we left them to pack and move to the apartment they will be staying in for a month or so and we went off to explore NYC.

Washing dropped off, Time Square, Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park and Central Park, all wonderful to see again.  Plus, I got new sneakers at the ASICS shop.

The boys finally got time to play and be boys and climb and climb the rocks in Central Park they did, while we enjoyed watching the world go by.

Soon it was time to see Shelley and Marie’s New York home. Even from the entrance with it’s New York City doorman it looked amazing and it did not disappoint once we were inside, even the apartment lifts (or elevators) were grand.  Their corner penthouse apartment (it’s on the top floor :-)) is just gorgeous with views sweeping along Times Square in one direction and New York skyline and Hudson River in the other.  They are going to have a wonderful stay here for sure.

After a good look around and apartment envy, it was time for dinner. We decided to find something close as it was getting cold, nobody felt like venturing far. We found a lovely Italian Restaurant.

After dinner, we said our goodbyes and made plans for an early meeting tomorrow to enjoy the day together.
